The typical work day for employees housed at the Staples NJPA office is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., which includes a half-hour unpaid, duty-free lunch. Others may vary by location.
Pay periods run from Sunday to Saturday, and pay dates are on a bi-weekly schedule, with 26 pay periods per fiscal year.
Direct deposit of paychecks is available for employees who desire this service.
NJPA observes eight (8) designated paid holidays each year. In addition, employees receive (2) floating holidays per year. All full-time and part-time (20 hours or more per week) are eligible for holidays.
Vacation hours earned are based on years of service. All full-time and part-time (20 hours or more per week) employees are eligible for vacation.

Employees of NJPA have the right to resign their position at any time, with or without notice, and with or without cause. NJPA retains a similar right, subject to any statutory or constitutional restrictions placed upon it as a public employer.
NJPA provides a group health insurance plan. NJPA pays 100% of the monthly premium for the single base plan for all full-time employees. Other plans are available at an additional cost, paid for by the employee. The selection of the insurance carrier and policy shall be made by NJPA as provided by law.

NJPA’s group health insurance options are all H.S.A. qualified.
Voluntary Dental Insurance
All NJPA employees are eligible and may choose to participate in the voluntary preventative group dental plan.
Life and Long Term Disability Insurance
NJPA provides a $50,000 group term life insurance policy and group long term disability insurance for all full-time and part-time (20 hours or more per week) employees. The selection of the insurance carrier and policy shall be made by the NJPA as provided by law.
All NJPA employees, having met minimum eligibility requirements, may receive reimbursement up to $5,000 per fiscal year towards self, spouse, or dependent education.
All NJPA employees are eligible to participate in the NJPA 403b Plan. NJPA match up to $1500 annually.
Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA)
