• Constitutional Foundations

    This course is a foundational level course studying the basics of United States Government with a focus on the Constitution and the role it plays in the everyday lives of citizens. Topics to be covered will include the Constitution as a document and its role in history. Students will also take a closer look at the Bill of Rights, the role of political parties, voting and election behaviors, the resulting role of government in our lives. We will also study the three branches of government and discuss the separation of powers. The effects of public policy at the national, state and local levels will be studied as it impacts our civil rights and liberties.

    The course will employ a variety of online resources and assessments. Assessments will include quizzes, discussion, projects, tests readings and more.


    It is to be noted that this foundation level course will meet applying state standards.
